Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Performance Engineering Specialist for the Engine Systems Team in CMDC, NC.

You will lead engine performance strategies to support emissions regulations, mentor a global team, and coordinate tech choices based on ROI and customer value. Role involves direct collaboration with product groups, testing, validation, and enterprise partners, plus leadership in development of multi-gen MGPPs and NPI programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
• Knowledge of emission regulations and engine design/development across multiple applications.
• Analytical thinking to diagnose root causes and create effective solutions.
• Experience with business processes and driving improvements; PMP/ DMAIC a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision for multi-generation product planning of new technologies.
• Lead engine performance, integration and emissions activities for BCP products.
• Coach and mentor Engine Systems team members globally.
• Set up remote CAN-based data acquisition for engine testing.
• Lead performance requirements, lug curves, transient response, and fuel targets.
• Collaborate with product groups, test, validation and enterprise partners.
