Caterpillar Inc. is hiring a Gas Engine System Engineer to design, integrate, and support gas engine subsystems under a System Lead. You will translate system requirements into detailed solutions and perform analysis, development, and validation across the engine system.

The role emphasizes collaboration with software, controls, hardware, validation, and applications teams to ensure robust implementation and successful product lifecycle outcomes. Onsite at Caterpillar facilities in the US.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of analysis techniques and root-cause identification.
• Ability to analyze problems and generate solutions.
• Understanding of embedded systems and their applications.
• Ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches for hardware/software.
• Familiarity with working knowledge levels and structured problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and validate subsystem functionality aligned with system requirements.
• Lead CRM feature development, calibrations, tests, and investigations end-to-end.
• Support system integration and diagnose issues in test cells, simulations, or field.
• Collaborate with software, controls, hardware, validation, and applications teams for robust implementation.
• Document designs, test results, and decisions for releases and audits.
• Contribute to trade studies, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
