Job summary

FMI Consulting is seeking a high-energy, experienced Senior Engagement Manager to lead a multimillion-dollar portfolio of projects within the Energy & Power practice. You’ll own delivery timelines, outcomes, and client relationships while mentoring teams of Analysts, Consultants, and Engagement Managers. Locations include Raleigh, NC; Denver, CO; Houston, TX; Tampa, FL or remote.

Travel can reach 50% depending on client needs. Visa sponsorship is not available; U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• 8–12 years of consulting experience, including 5+ years in energy and power.
• Direct experience with major capital project program management (generation, transmission, data centers, etc.).
• Operational leadership experience with cross-functional teams; executive presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead client engagements from start to finish, owning delivery timelines, quality, and outcomes; set workplan priorities and directions.
• Provide direct oversight of Analysts, Consultants, and Engagement Managers; coach and develop team members.
• Establish project operating cadences and proactive client communication with FMI resources and stakeholders.
• Partner on client engagement plans; secure alignment on scope and success criteria.
• Lead scoping processes with FMI Partners and clients; define project scope before execution.
• Drive engagement delivery, including executive presentations and high-quality deliverables.
• Understand FMI’s services and connect clients with internal or external resources.
• Build trusted client relationships and contribute to new work opportunities.
• Contribute to Energy & Power practice growth through proposals, thought leadership, and business development.
