Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience building products with a focus on cloud-based high-performance systems.
• 7+ years’ experience leading and managing high-performance teams.
• Led a team of 9+ engineers/managers and owned accountability for end-to-end delivery.
• Excellent stakeholder and program management.
• Extensive experience building distributed systems and cloud services using Java, Spring Boot, Golang, Python.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS and GCP.
• Exposure to large-scale data platforms using cloud tech and data warehouses like BigQuery, RedShift.
• Strong understanding of Non-Functional requirements (NFRs).
• Experience running cloud-distributed systems in production for 2–3 years.
• Experience creating scalable, distributed middle-tier services in the cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Developing REST-based APIs and integrations.
• OOA&D using common design patterns.
• Knowledge of unit testing frameworks (JUnit/Spock/Jest) and code quality platforms.
• CI/CD tools: Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GCP DevOps.
• SQL and NoSQL knowledge.
• Hands-on development to prototype solutions.
• Ability to adapt to change and learn new technologies.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence without direct control.
• Well-versed in Agile (Scrum) methodology.

Responsibilities

• Manage high-performing teams of 9+ engineers and own end-to-end delivery accountability.
• Drive design, development, implementation and documentation of engineering solutions.
• Exhibit excellent stakeholder and program management.
• Establish engineering practices and operation excellence with product, engineering and Scrum metrics.
• Collaborate with other Illumio teams to align dependencies and deliverables.
• Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda and priorities.
• Work with Architects and cross-functional teams within established guidelines.
• Help chart the future roadmap with senior leadership.
• Participate in hiring and build high-performing agile teams.
• Mentor and coach the team to grow.
• Engage in organizational events like hackathons.
