Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Decarbonization Manager to advance energy, building performance, and climate goals. You will lead benchmarking, track rebates, and develop data-driven reports for internal and public audiences.

This role collaborates with Physical Plant and Planning & Construction teams to implement scalable decarbonization programs. Hybrid work is available; the position offers a competitive pay range and the chance to influence sustainability campus-wide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• At least three years of energy management or sustainability experience.
• Familiarity with utility, building, HVAC and energy distribution systems.
• Ability to interpret energy policy and climate targets.
• Strong project management and cross-department collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication and data visualization abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead building energy benchmarking and decarbonization opportunities.
• Track utility rebates and greenhouse gas inventory.
• Develop reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
• Collaborate with Physical Plant and Planning staff across projects.
• Manage selected projects and oversee related programs.
