Charles River Associates is seeking a Senior Associate in its Energy Practice to help clients make strategic, investment, and operational decisions. You will structure complex problems, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, and translate findings into actionable guidance for executives.

The role offers exposure to diverse energy sector engagements and opportunities to own workstreams, collaborate with senior experts, and contribute to business development.

Qualifications

• MBA or Master’s degree expected with graduation in 2027; fields include economics, engineering, finance, accounting, operations research, data science, or power systems.
• Typically three to five years of relevant professional experience before graduate study, or substantial applied research in energy.
• Demonstrated energy industry experience and ability to connect experience to client challenges.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, assess evidence, and develop practical recommendations.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to take ownership of a workstream, manage priorities and deadlines, and collaborate with junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute across all phases of client engagements: define questions, conduct analyses, and develop recommendations.
• Evaluate energy industry challenges and translate data into practical insights.
• Manage project workstreams, planning, and delivery of high‑quality client materials.
• Present findings to mid- and senior‑level clients and build consensus.
• Lead and coach junior consultants, providing feedback and development opportunities.
• Support business development through proposals and identifying client needs; contribute to practice development.
