Job summary

Fervo Energy is seeking a Senior Settlement Analyst in Houston to own end-to-end settlement processes for generation assets, from ISO statements to PPA invoicing and revenue recognition.

You will reconcile data, support month-end close and audits, and drive process improvements with automation and scalable controls. Collaboration with Commercial, Operations, Accounting, and Legal is key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field with substantive accounting concentration.
• Five or more years of progressive experience in energy settlements, including hands-on ISO market settlements and related data.
• Experience settling long-term power purchase agreements and reading contract language for calculations.
• Working knowledge of ISO market design, tariff structure, and settlement timelines.
• Strong revenue accounting foundation: accruals, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills with large datasets, complex formulas, and pivot analysis.
• SQL proficiency to query and validate settlement and market data independently.
• Ability to explain variances clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly ISO settlement cycle for the generation assets; reconcile charge codes, meter data, and invoices; verify energy, ancillary services, congestion, and uplift charges.
• Calculate settlements under long-term PPAs and translate terms into invoices and accruals.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices; review counterparty invoices and track receivables through cash.
• Identify and pursue settlement disputes with ISO and counterparties within timelines; maintain dispute records.
• Deliver settlement-based revenue accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations; explain month-over-month variances with workpapers.
• Maintain SOX-compliant settlement controls with audit trails; support external audits and internal control testing.
• Build and maintain queries, models, and dashboards turning data into analysis; automate processes and select settlement-system capabilities.
• Provide settlement insights to Commercial, Operations, and Finance; analyze revenue drivers and variances.
• Document procedures and act as a mentor for analysts joining the team.
