Job summary

JD Ross Energy seeks an Energy & Retro-Commissioning Project Manager to lead energy audits, retro-commissioning, and related assessments for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and laboratory facilities in the New Jersey region.

You will guide field investigations, energy modeling, and measures to improve building performance, comfort, and energy efficiency while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in building energy analysis, energy modeling, energy audits, and/or retro-commissioning.
• ABET-accredited degree required in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Strong expertise in HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and building controls.
• Experience evaluating and improving performance in technically sophisticated buildings.
• Proven project management with client communication and technical delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead energy audits, facility assessments, and retro-commissioning projects for existing buildings.
• Perform field investigations and evaluate mechanical, HVAC, and control systems.
• Conduct energy modeling and calculate energy savings using industry-standard tools.
• Develop practical energy conservation measures and operational improvements.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations on medium- to large-scale engagements.
• Coordinate with owners, contractors, architects, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients.
• Support ENERGY STAR, LEED, and Green Globes assessment and certification efforts.
• Participate in proposals, client management, and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
