Job summary

Environmental Science Associates (ESA) seeks a senior Energy Planner and Project Manager with 20+ years of experience to support CEQA/NEPA regulatory processes for renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects. Preference for Northern California-based, remote with onsite as needed.

You will manage tasks, budgets, and delivery, mentor staff, and lead client engagements, marketing, and proposals in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• CEQA and NEPA knowledge is required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in environmental science or related field.
• Strong PM, writing, and analytical skills with ability to mentor staff.
• Experience in marketing, business development, capture strategies, and proposals.
• Experience preparing analyses for renewable energy and electrical projects.
• Based in California, preferably Northern California, and able to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager or senior project manager for CEQA/NEPA documents on energy projects.
• Manage tasks, budgets, invoicing, and delivery schedules; handle logistics.
• Lead client meetings, present information, and communicate with agencies and partners.
• Lead marketing and business development efforts for selected tasks.
• Mentor junior staff and review work for accuracy and clarity.
