Job summary

FMI’s Strategy Practice in the Energy & Power team seeks a Senior Consultant to advance client engagements across the built environment. Based in the U.S., you will own workstreams, guide scoping, and drive delivery with a focus on strategic insights and value creation for energy projects.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage client communications, support business development, and mentor analysts, while leveraging Power BI/Tableau for insights and presentation readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• 3–6 years of consulting experience in energy/power sector; 2+ years consulting preferred.
• Direct experience with major capital project management (generation, transmission, data centers) preferred.
• Operational leadership experience in a complex org, with cross-functional teams.
• Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to synthesize data into client deliverables.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to present to executive-level clients.
• Ability to influence outcomes with internal/external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership, sound judgment, and ability to develop others.
• Ability to build strong client relationships in ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned workstreams within client engagements, managing scope, milestones, deliverables, and progress.
• Co-facilitate internal project teams, set roles, responsibilities, and direction for workplan deliverables.
• Participate in scoping with FMI Partners and clients to define project scope before execution.
• Support client communication schedules and help coordinate project kickoff meetings.
• Provide input on workstream plans based on scoping, feedback, and observations.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients, project leadership, and stakeholders.
• Drive workstream timelines, client presentations, and high-quality deliverables.
• Develop understanding of FMI’s services and identify opportunities for engagement.
• Build trusted client relationships through listening and professional judgment.
• Coordinate and mentor Analysts and Consultants on workstreams.
• Contribute to business development and Energy & Power practice growth.
