Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Miami, FL is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead delivery of Energy Management System customizations, working with GE Reliance and related technologies. You will design, develop, test, and deploy mission-critical software for electric utilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in C++, Java, Linux/Windows, Oracle, and incident-resolution experience; strong debugging, documentation, and client-facing skills are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience in customizing and delivering Energy Management Systems (preferably e-terra AEMS - Reliance).
• 5+ years of experience with C++, Java or other related language.
• 5+ years of experience with GE's AEMS Reliance source design and development.
• 5+ years of experience with electric utility industry practices.
• 5 years of experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
• 5 years of experience with C, Java & Oracle Database.
• SQL, shell scripting, ability to read and interpret logs and debug files.
• Installation of OS patches and other 3rd party software such as Oracle, NetApp etc.
• System configuration and hands-on experience in GitHub and ClearCase.
• 5 years of experience on real-time or mission critical systems.
• Must have experience in picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems.
• Proven track record of problem analysis, identification and resolution.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook competency.
• Reliance (Formerly XA/21) experience.
• Object-oriented programming techniques, Oracle, and/or system administration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for advanced Power Systems Application software development and delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate commitments with Electric Utilities or ISOs.
• Ensure customers' success by fostering a balanced relationship that benefits both GE and the customer.
• Lead with internal staff and customers to solve and prevent re-occurrence of issues.
• Engage with customers on day-to-day issues; organize calls to implement solutions while following change control and compliance protocols.
• Mentor staff in troubleshooting and analysis methods.
• Knowledge transfer - write user/technical documentation and case notes; act as a technical resource for staff.
• Contribute to the Knowledge Base for customer-specific issues for the broader team.
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues across UI, network, data collection/storage, visualization, analytics, and interfaces to enterprise systems.
• Own and manage personal caseload and perform case follow-up.
• Troubleshoot and identify product problems for escalation to engineering.
• Adhere to Quality processes and participate in on-call rotation.
