Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Limited in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead advanced Power Systems Application software development for energy management and utility clients. The role focuses on design, coding, testing, and delivering reliable solutions for electric utilities and ISOs.

You will collaborate with customers and internal teams, mentor staff, and maintain knowledge bases while adhering to quality processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years delivering Energy Management Systems (e-terra AEMS - Reliance).
• 5+ years experience with C++, Java or related language.
• 5+ years with GE's AEMS Reliance source design and development.
• 5 years experience with electric utility industry practices.
• 5 years experience with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
• 5 years experience with C, Java & Oracle Database.
• SQL, shell scripting, ability to read and interpret logs & debug files.
• Installation of OS patches and other 3rd party software (Oracle, NetApp).
• System configuration and hands-on experience in GitHub and ClearCase.
• 5 years experience on real-time or mission critical systems.
• Experience picking up and installing fixes on live customer systems.
• Strong troubleshooting & debugging skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and MS Outlook competency.
• Reliance (XA/21) experience.
• OOP, Oracle, and system administration a plus

Responsibilities

• Advanced Power Systems Application software development and delivery of functions to meet commitments.
• Collaborate with Electric Utilities or ISOs and TSOs on specifications, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Lead with customers to solve issues and ensure change control compliance.
• Mentor staff in troubleshooting and analysis methods.
• Create knowledge base articles and user/technical documentation.
• Own and manage personal caseload with timely follow-up.
• Troubleshoot product problems for engineering resolution.
• Adhere to Quality processes and participate in on-call rotation.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

Roles & Responsibilities

Generic Managerial Skills, If any

• Responsible for advanced Power Systems Application software development and successful delivery of assigned functions to meet corporate project/product commitments. The responsibilities include: working with Electric Utilities or ISOs (Independent System Operators) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs) on functional software specifications, designing, coding, testing, integration, application tuning and delivery
• Ensure customers' success by fostering a balanced relationship that benefits both GE and the customer with the goal of producing the highest level of customer support and satisfaction. In this role, you will:
• Take a leadership role in strategizing with internal staff and customers to solve and prevent re-occurrence of issues.
• Engage with customers on day to day issues; organize customer calls to facilitate implementation of solutions while adhering to change control, compliance protocols. Ensure solution does solve the customer's issue.
• Mentors staff in troubleshooting and analysis methods
• Knowledge transfer - write user/technical documentation and case notes. Act as a technical resource for staff
• Primary contributor to Knowledge Base system for customer specific issues that will benefit the greater customer and support team
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues involving all aspects of GE solutions, including but not limited to user interface, network and communication connectivity and performance, interoperability, data collection/storage, visualization, analytics, associated control systems and interfaces to enterprise systems.
• Own and manage personal caseload and perform case follow-up.
• Troubleshoot and identify product problems for presentation to engineering for resolution or disseminates appropriate information necessary to correct issues.
• Adhere to all Quality processes. Ability to be part of an on-call rotation for after business hour customer calls.
• Ability to travel to customer sites.

Salary Range : $130,000 to $160,000 Per Annum
