Job summary

Energy Exemplar is seeking an Energy Market Analyst for the Americas Solutions team, focusing on US energy markets. You will apply fundamental market modelling, forecast energy prices, and guide investment decisions with PLEXOS-based solutions.

You will gather requirements, calibrate models, and develop proofs of concept to support business development, while delivering training and technical presentations to clients.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electricity markets.
• Experience in energy market modelling via optimization/unit commitment.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Economics, or Operations Research.

Responsibilities

• Forecast energy prices and cross-border flows using market models.
• Support pre-trade decisions with portfolio optimization.
• Assess Value at Risk and hedge strategies.
• Develop strategies for participation in secondary markets (Balancing/Ancillary Services).
• Calibrate models to historical benchmarks and advise on applications.
• Train users on PLEXOS and provide implementation support.
