Job summary

Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest energy provider, seeks a Sr. Energy Market Engineer to model production costs and optimize MISO market offers. You will analyze generation unit performance, forecast trends, and build machine learning models to inform business strategy.

The role requires data analysis, software proficiency in PCI and GenTrader, and strong programming skills. This is a hybrid position with onsite days at the Parnall Office in Jackson, MI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science or related field with 4+ years of data analysis, data modeling, and energy markets.
• Associate degree with 6+ years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and energy markets.
• High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and energy markets.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and operate electric supply models for production costs, economic analysis, and forecasting.
• Build, optimize, and validate complex analytical frameworks including regression and neural networks, Excel modeling, and unit commitment modeling.
• Monitor and advise on MISO energy policies to maximize value for customers while ensuring compliance.
• Utilize PCI data software platforms and data-driven insights to develop market strategies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
