Job summary

MISO Default Brand seeks a Sr. Power Systems Engineer to lead modeling and data work for reliability, economic and policy studies. You’ll collaborate with Transmission Owners, Balancing Authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate submissions and NERC/FERC compliance.

You’ll work across departments to drive planning, grid analysis, and reporting, with a focus on delivering robust solutions and growth in technical depth. A base salary is offered with an annual bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
• Four years related energy industry experience; eight preferred.
• Power system modeling experience including power flow and dynamic simulation tools (PSS/E, MUST, TARA, TSAT).
• Exposure to power system planning, bulk electric system operations, substation design, or protection/control engineering.
• Experience supporting FERC/NERC compliance evidence.

Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain transmission and generation models for reliability, economic, and policy studies.
• Lead and support model development, data management, case preparation, and reporting; ensure compliance with tariffs and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical engineering support to ensure accurate modeling data submissions.
• Analyze complex system data, identify modeling risks, and implement engineering solutions.
• Make timely decisions affecting design, scheduling, and project completion across departments.
• Contribute to projects requiring coordination across multiple divisions.
