**This role is fully remote based out of Canada or the U.S.About the PositionEnergy Exemplar is looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable Senior Energy Market Analyst (Technical Solutions) to support business development, pre-sales, and implementation efforts across the energy trading and electric market operations space. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience from the energy industry and will play a key role in communicating the value of our solutions to potential clients through demos, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying client needs and recommending tailored energy market solutions.
- Act as a pre-sales and technical advisor, delivering product demos and presentations to clients and industry stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Implementation teams to develop client proposals, solution strategies, and technical documentation.
- Assist in the implementation process, offering subject matter expertise around market operations and back-office functions.
- Working closely with customers to understand requirements, challenges and act as an advisor to support them
- ISO/RTO/PX bidding and market participation
- Energy scheduling and transaction management
- Settlements and reconciliation with ISOs
- Energy trading and risk management workflows
- Translate complex energy market requirements into product features and implementation plans.
- Serve as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications- At least 5 years in project management and technical experience with an energy company, ISO/RTO, or software provider in related areas (e.g., trading, market operations, settlements).
- Possess a deep understanding of ISO/RTO market structures and processes (e.g., CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, MISO, NYISO), with experience delivering SaaS-based energy solutions and collaborating on software development or cloud computing initiatives tailored to market operations.
- Familiarity working in a SaaS environment-particularly leveraging cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure for solution deployment, data management, or software development.
- Strong presentation and communication skills; confident in delivering demos and engaging with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience working in a customer centric position
- Experience with energy market software or trading platforms is a plus.
- Technical aptitude or background preferred (e.g., knowledge of SQL, Excel modeling, APIs).
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with ISO/RTO settlement processes, shadow settlements, or power scheduling platforms
- Understanding of back-office systems or energy accounting workflows
