Summary
As a Workday Technical Analyst at Hummingbird, you will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and improving the technical configuration and integrations of the Workday platform. You’ll collaborate with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to ensure Workday meets business needs, scales effectively, and delivers reliable, high-quality data.
In this role, you’ll work with growing autonomy on moderately complex tasks and take responsibility for both ongoing support and technical improvements. You’ll apply established tools and methods while continuing to build your knowledge of Workday best practices and enterprise integration frameworks. Your work will help stabilize existing processes, reduce technical debt, and contribute to new solution development with a clear focus on business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Employment Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Compensation:$78,000 - $95,250 per year less statutory deductions
Work Location:This position is remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.
Travel:2-3 times per year for client visits, training, and company events

Workday Technical Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Document Transformation.
- Develop and manage calculated fields, custom reports, business processes, and condition rules to support data flow and functionality.
- Configure Workday security settings to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to improve system workflows and integration performance.
- Apply outcome-oriented thinking to prioritize work and propose enhancements.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and make recommendations based on sound analysis and growing expertise.
Change Control
- Maintain technical documentation aligned with Hummingbird’s change management processes.
- Analyze system dependencies and downstream impacts of proposed changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate change requests and recommend best practices.
- Support the planning and execution of technical solutions with an emphasis on risk mitigation.
- Contribute to a clear and sustainable system change process.
System Maintenance and User Support
- Manage active integrations and Workday reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring smooth and reliable system performance.
- Create and maintain documentation for integrations, reports, and configurations.
- Respond to user support requests and help translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Partner with business and technical teams to deliver effective and timely enhancements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and Workday configurations.
- Share tools, documentation, or insights with teammates to improve team knowledge and support consistent practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement durable solutions for recurring issues.
Release Management
- Participate in Workday release review and testing activities, including regression testing.
- Assist with deployment planning, including rollback procedures and user communication.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to validate system updates and minimize disruption.
- Support the Change Advisory Group by clearly presenting risks, impacts, and mitigations.
- Help ensure releases are delivered according to methodology and standards.
Required & Desired Skills
Required Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of experience working with Workday integrations and technical configuration, including EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors, and Document Transformation.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to document and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Comfort working across teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Working knowledge of Workday security, calculated fields, and custom reporting, with ability to apply them to real-world problems.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Previous exposure to Workday modules like Payroll, Benefits, or Adaptive Planning.
- Experience working with stakeholders to refine or improve business processes.
- Experience with Workday’s release cycles and regression testing practices.
- Understanding of change management processes and system governance.
- Background in technical support or troubleshooting complex enterprise systems.
- Ability to think critically about process improvements and user experience.
- Interest in staying current with Workday trends and evolving platform capabilities.
