About the Position

The Senior Energy Market Analyst, part of the Americas – Data and Insights team, will support Energy Exemplar's growth in North America by identifying customer use cases, shaping go-to-market strategies, and providing thought leadership. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will understand customer challenges, propose solutions, and develop products using Energy Exemplar tools and datasets.

The role is heavily focused on modeling, requiring expertise in energy market fundamentals. The analyst will build and oversee the production of energy market models using PLEXOS. Candidates should have strong modeling skills, fundamental nodal modeling experience, customer engagement abilities, and a proactive, adaptable mindset.

• Hands-on modeling experience in several ISOs (e.g., ERCOT)
• Experience with nodal power flow modeling and ability to discuss concepts such as LMPs, congestion, contingencies, LODF, etc.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• 4+ years of experience with direct energy modeling and power market analysis
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and learn new techniques
• Experience in creating and analyzing energy datasets for power models
• Knowledge of production cost market modeling
• Experience with nodal market modeling is required
• Experience working at a market operator, project developer, trading firm, consultancy, or utility in planning, transmission, or commercial operations would be an asset
• Knowledge of energy economic modeling tools: PLEXOS, Aurora, PROMOD, PSO, MarketAnalytics, and/or PROSYM
• Strong organizational skills
• Expertise in Excel, Power BI, and similar tools
• Python experience is a plus
