Job summary

City of New York seeks an Administrative Supervisor of Building Maintenance M-I to function as an Energy Manager. This role leads DHS’s energy management, emissions reductions, and budget oversight for multiple facilities in alignment with city mandates.

The position also coordinates training, program participation, and project delivery from energy audits through to funding applications, with a strong emphasis on accountability and equity in service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Eight years of full-time experience in buildings construction, repair, alteration or rehabilitation with supervisory responsibility.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to one above, with at least 18 months in supervisory/administrative role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead energy management and emissions reductions for DHS facilities.
  • Manage utility accounts and energy budgets; forecast and review monthly bills.
  • Promote energy-saving practices and coordinate staff training.
  • Support participation in Load Management, Demand Response, and Real-Time Metering programs.
  • Identify and implement energy efficiency and clean energy projects; estimate savings and oversee project delivery.
  • Report progress to DEM and oversee M&V activities.
