Job summary

Energy Sciences in Michigan seeks a detail-oriented energy engineering professional to help commercial and industrial clients reduce energy use and improve system performance through energy efficiency programs, assessments, and direct-to-customer consulting.

The role is home-based in the Metro Detroit area with up to 25% local travel, requires a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and at least four years of related experience, and offers Day 1 benefits and a comprehensive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in energy engineering, energy consulting, or related fields.
• Experience conducting energy assessments, facility evaluations, and system investigations in commercial/industrial facilities.
• Knowledge of decarbonization strategies for buildings and industries.

Responsibilities

• Identify, quantify, and prioritize energy efficiency, operational improvements, and decarbonization opportunities.
• Perform energy and economic analyses using utility data, weather normalization, and engineering calculations.
• Review energy assessments and calculations and prepare professional technical reports.
• Collaborate with customers, facility staff, and stakeholders; mentor team members as needed.
• Travel to customer sites up to 25% and present findings to clients.
