Willdan is seeking a Senior Energy Engineer in New York, NY to drive peak building performance through energy project development, retro-commissioning, and on-site leadership. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering field.
• PE or CEM preferred.
• Working knowledge of NY/NJ utility incentive programs (ConEd, NYSERDA, NJ SmartStart).
• Five+ years of progressive project development experience.
• Experience in Public Sector energy engineering with hospitals, universities, and laboratories.
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver targets as an On-site Energy Manager at various buildings.
• Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments of mechanical systems.
• Develop energy projects from feasibility through budgeting and implementation.
• Lead energy modeling, utility analysis, and financial analysis activities.
• Troubleshoot system performance and scale verification procedures.
• Collaborate with contractors to ensure correct BAS/BMS installation and operation.
• Support retro-commissioning by identifying inefficiencies and recommending actions.
• Lead retro-commissioning activities for HVAC, lighting, and controls.
• Produce technical documentation, training guides, and reports.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate with project stakeholders.
