About the role

DNV Energy Systems seeks a Senior Energy Engineer for our energy efficiency incentive programs in the Philadelphia area. The role demands a motivated professional with technical expertise and excellent customer service skills.

This position is based at our Chalfont, PA office, with a hybrid schedule typically involving three days per week onsite or at client locations. Details will be provided during the interview.
What You'll Do
  1. Represent the technical aspects of the program as part of the Leadership Team.
  2. Mentor junior engineers on energy and demand assessments.
  3. Engage with facility engineers and building managers to promote energy upgrades.
  4. Conduct site-specific energy analyses involving industrial and HVAC systems.
  5. Review and verify energy efficiency applications and calculations.
  6. Develop technical specifications and project calculations.
  7. Collaborate to develop market strategies and increase program participation.
  8. Perform site inspections and address customer questions.
  9. Deliver presentations at meetings and training events.
  10. Assess energy performance of commercial buildings for cost-effective upgrades.
  11. Act as the technical liaison to clients and evaluators.

About you
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably with energy focus
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of lighting, motors, HVAC systems
  • Understanding of energy codes and standards (IECC, ASHRAE)
  • Experience with energy audits (ASHRAE levels 1-3)
  • Proficiency with energy modeling tools (eQuest, EnergyPlus, etc.)
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Technical writing experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel 15-20%
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and climb ladders
  • Must pass pre-employment screening
Preferred
  • Master's degree in relevant fields
  • PE certification
  • CEM certification and experience with metering
