Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Sr. Energy Engineer to develop energy, water, and greenhouse gas strategies for commercial real estate clients in the U.S.

You will lead energy-saving initiatives, perform audits, and support retro‑commissioning, working closely with energy team members and clients. The role emphasizes decarbonization, data analysis, and excellent written and verbal communication, with regular cross‑functional collaboration and client presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in math, engineering, or science.
• 5–8 years of applicable work experience in a related field.
• Ability to lead internal and client meetings; strong communication skills.
• Experience with energy, decarbonization, and sustainability in real estate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the development of energy saving strategies and the identification of energy efficiency measures and emissions reduction measures for existing buildings using spreadsheets and other tools for calculations of energy/cost savings and return on investment.
• Prepare preliminary cost estimates for recommended measures.
• Perform ASHRAE Level I & II Energy Audits in existing buildings.
• Support retro‑commissioning of existing buildings.
• Provide consultation on climate control systems, energy modeling, data logging, building automation, lighting or daylighting, sustainable design, and energy auditing.
• Review ARCH and MEP drawings for existing buildings and systems.
• Support incentive applications and client engagements; deliver written technical and non-technical reports.
• Travel up to 12 days per month.
