Job summary

Voltus is a distributed energy platform enabling commercial and industrial customers to monetize energy market flexibility. The role focuses on reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex energy contracts including battery storage and PPA structures.

You will advise sales teams on risks and structures, mentor junior lawyers, and ensure compliance across ISO/RTO markets in a fully remote environment that includes equity compensation.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree with strong academic credentials.
• 7-10+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Direct experience with BESS contracts and complex commercial agreements.
• Working knowledge of U.S. energy markets and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of energy and commercial contracts, including battery storage, tolling, and power purchase agreements.
• Advise sales and partnership teams on legal risks and commercial structures, and mentor junior legal team members.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and market-specific issues across ISO/RTO markets.
