Job summary

Grid United, a fast-growing energy-transmission developer, seeks a Senior Associate/Associate in Commercial Analytics in Houston. You will build probabilistic resource adequacy models, analyze production costs and capacity expansion, and develop analytics across MISO, SPP, WECC, and ERCOT to support project valuation and regulatory filings.

You will validate inputs, automate pipelines in Python/SQL, and work with commercial, regulatory, and finance teams to enable financing and project

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in energy analytics or similar quantitative roles.
• Hands-on probabilistic resource adequacy modeling experience.
• Familiarity with market constructs in multiple regions (MISO, SPP, WECC, ERCOT, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for data assembly and automation.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and regulatory contexts.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain probabilistic resource adequacy models to quantify reliability and capacity value.
• Perform production cost, congestion, and capacity expansion analyses to support valuation.
• Gather and validate model inputs with quality control for reproducibility.
• Develop analytics on capacity value, energy arbitrage, and congestion relief across markets.
• Support regulatory strategy with quantitative analyses and technical comments.
• Collaborate with commercial, regulatory, and finance teams to align analytics with financing needs.
• Automate data pipelines and reporting in Python and SQL for internal and external audiences.
