Job summary

FirstService Energy is seeking a senior energy advisor to support a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties across the United States and Canada. You will combine technical energy expertise with strategic consulting and relationship management to deliver measurable energy savings and sustainability outcomes.

The role requires strong communication with property managers, boards, and building operators, and includes travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Building Science, or related field.
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
• Existing Building Commissioning Professional (EBCP)
• Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP)
• LEED Operations & Maintenance (LEED O+M)

Responsibilities

• Serve as regional expert for energy management, sustainability, decarbonization, and climate initiatives.
• Analyze utility rate structures and building consumption data to identify savings opportunities.
• Conduct on-site assessments and propose energy and water efficiency upgrades and low-cost measures.
• Develop energy reports including savings estimates, ROI calculations, and implementation strategies.
• Present findings to property managers, boards, and stakeholders, including evening meetings.
• Prioritize opportunities by building lists based on energy spend and asset characteristics.
• Design prescriptive energy programs and high-ROI initiatives to reduce consumption and costs.
• Represent FirstService Energy at conferences and industry events.
• Build relationships with vendors, utilities, municipalities, and consultants.
• Collaborate with internal teams to advance energy strategies and regulatory compliance.
