Job summary

Cleco is seeking a senior professional to lead the Energy/Back Office Accounting function in Louisiana. The role focuses on reconciliation and settlement of commodity purchases/sales, and preparing disclosures for commodity derivatives.

You will guide monthly close, regulatory reporting, audits, and process improvements while mentoring staff. The position emphasizes strong technical knowledge of energy accounting, internal controls, and collaboration with finance leadership to align with

Qualifications

Senior-level professional with Energy/Back Office Accounting knowledge.
Experience with reconciliation and settlement of commodity purchases/sales.
Ability to drive process improvements and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

Design and develop procedures for Energy/Back Office Accounting operations; ensure internal controls and proper financial system recordings.
Lead monthly close, analyses, regulatory reporting, and fuel-related reconciliations for regulated and unregulated business.
Oversee filings (LPSC FAC/EAC, FERC EQR/580/EIA923) and ensure SOX compliance across the function.
Develop analytical reporting tools and assist with audits and financial statement issuance.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure accurate recording of commodity transactions and settlements.
