Job summary

Cleco Power LLC is recruiting a senior Manager of Energy Accounting to lead the back office accounting, close cycles, and regulatory reporting for commodity activities in Louisiana and nationwide operations. The role drives process improvements, staffing development, and SOX-compliant controls within the finance team.

The position requires a strong background in energy accounting, GAAP knowledge, and experience with ERP systems such as SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience; 5+ years of people management preferred.
• Experience leading staff across projects and with SAP and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Energy/Back Office Accounting operations and monthly close.
• Oversee reconciliation of commodity purchases/sales and prepare disclosures for commodity derivatives.
• Monitor regulatory reporting and ensure SOX-compliant processes and controls.
• Mentor staff and drive process improvements across the function.
