Job summary

Mimecast Limited is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to craft the endpoint sensor technology that runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux across millions of machines. You will work at the OS boundary, building kernel-mode components and Endpoint Security extensions with a security-first mindset.

Responsibilities include end-to-end ownership from research to production, integration with backend workflows, and maintaining high performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software in low-level systems or endpoint development.
• Strong C++ fundamentals and memory/performance awareness.
• Experience with Windows kernel mode, minifilters, drivers, or WFP.
• Ability to design extensible software architectures with stable interfaces.
• Security-focused mindset addressing evasion and insider risk.
• Ability to build real-time inline enforcement with performance constraints.
• Comfort coding with AI assistants and cross-platform support.
• Production Rust experience or willingness to work in Rust codebase.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core capabilities for Windows, macOS, and Linux agents.
• Build kernel-mode components and endpoint security/network extensions.
• Create detection paths and inline enforcement with minimal performance impact.
• Own features end-to-end from research to production at scale.
• Integrate agent capabilities with backend and product workflows.
• Develop always-on components with observability and stability.
