Job summary

Williams College, a prominent liberal arts college, seeks a Senior Accountant - Endowment & Investments to steward a $4+ billion investment pool. You will model distributions, forecast scenarios, and address donor and account questions while supporting endowment accounting under GAAP and UPMIFA.

The role includes journal entries, year-end reporting, and oversight of Fundriver; 3+ days on campus with hybrid options for MA residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in investment accounting for large, complex portfolios.
• Not-for-profit and endowment accounting knowledge incl. unitization.
• Advanced skills with MS Office, Google Suite, and data management.
• Strong collaboration across organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently in a decentralized org.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of investment valuation and activity.
• Coordinate with outside providers for split interest agreements and trusts.
• Assist in design of reports for annual audit and financial statements.
• Manage endowment gift agreements and classification in Workday and Fundriver.
• Review endowment gifts to ensure donor intent and proper spend designation.
• Prepare annual financial statements, 990, and related reports.
• Support urgent or deadline-driven projects and compliance requests.
• Oversee Fundriver system operations and data integrity.
