Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a Principal Desktop Engineer to lead and contribute to the design, build, and operation of enterprise endpoint platforms. You will manage a distributed team (~20–25) across Windows/macOS, VDI, and modern endpoint management in a hybrid workforce.

You will drive standards, security, and automation, partnering with Workplace Experience Technology leadership to deliver scalable, high‑reliability solutions and measurable platform performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or CS or equivalent with 10+ years in IT engineering.
• 5+ years in enterprise desktop or end-user computing with leadership experience.
• Deep knowledge of Windows and macOS in large enterprises.
• Expertise with SCCM/MECM and Intune management.
• Experience with VDI (Citrix/VMware) and Autopilot.

Responsibilities

• Set the desktop engineering strategy and roadmaps aligned to business priorities.
• Lead design standards for Windows, macOS, VDI, and endpoint management.
• Drive modernization including Windows 11, zero-touch provisioning, and automation.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex endpoint issues.
• Mentor a 20–25 engineer team and foster high-performance culture.
• Oversee large desktop programs, OS migrations, hardware refreshes.
• Partner with IT and business leaders to meet security and ops goals.
• Establish KPIs, runbooks, vendor management, and asset lifecycle.
• Lead testing and QA for OS/hardware and apps changes.
