Job summary

Steven Winter Associates, Inc. (SWA) is seeking a Senior Building Enclosure Consultant to join our enclosure consulting team in New York.

The ideal candidate has a passion for high-performance buildings and experience with enclosure systems across historic, new, and retrofit passive house projects. The role offers a growth path, collaboration with sustainability and energy teams, and a chance to contribute to the SWA Whole Building Approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant & direct experience in building enclosure systems.
• Licensed RA or PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform existing building enclosure condition assessments and reporting.
• Review and mark-up architectural drawings throughout the design process from schematic design to CDs.
• Provide preliminary specifications for cladding, water-management, air-barrier, and thermal systems.
• Develop sketch details for enclosure systems including waterproofing, air-barriers, and thermal barriers.
• Attend design meetings and provide ongoing support to the project team.
• Perform site inspections and issue site inspection field reports.
• Review construction administration submittals and shop drawings.
• Assist the SWA team in project management and day-to-day operations.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and project teams.
