Job summary

Whistler Partners is working with a high-growth technology company in Los Angeles looking to hire its first dedicated Employment & Litigation Counsel. This high-autonomy role lets you build the employment function from the ground up while helping manage the company’s broader litigation portfolio.

You will report to the General Counsel and collaborate with the People team, business leaders, outside counsel, and senior stakeholders across the company in a complex, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of employment law experience.
• Experience handling employment and multi-state litigation.
• Licensed to practice in California or Washington, D.C.
• Experience managing outside counsel and litigation budgets.
• Strong communication and ability to operate in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Serve as internal expert on employment law matters.
• Advise on recruiting, terminations, wage and hour, leaves, accommodations, investigations, and employee relations.
• Partner with People team on investigations and performance management.
• Draft and maintain employment policies, agreements, and SOPs.
• Monitor federal, state, and local employment law compliance.
• Deliver trainings for managers and employees on policy compliance.
• Support workforce changes and market expansion implications.
• Help manage litigation docket, budgets, and strategy.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and General Counsel on litigation strategy.
