Confidential Employer in California seeks a seasoned attorney to lead sophisticated employment litigation for regional, national, and Fortune 500 employers. You will own strategy, direct discovery, depose witnesses, and argue dispositive motions in a hybrid Sacramento setting.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of California labor and employment litigation experience, is admitted to the CA Bar, and can independently manage significant matters.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar in good standing.
• 6+ years of California labor and employment litigation experience.
• Ability to independently manage significant litigation matters.
• Experience with class actions and PAGA matters.
• Experience with class certification, dispositive motions, expert discovery, and trial preparation.
• Employer-side employment litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead single-plaintiff, class action, collective action, and PAGA matters through all phases of litigation.
• Develop litigation strategy with relationship partners and take ownership of execution.
• Direct discovery and take and defend depositions.
• Work closely with expert witnesses on sophisticated employment matters.
• Draft and argue dispositive and other significant motions.
• Appear in court and represent clients in trial and arbitration proceedings.
• Lead settlement negotiations and advocate for clients during mediations.
• Prepare complex matters for trial and arbitration.
• Advise employer clients on litigation strategy, employment issues, and risk.
• Build trusted client relationships while independently managing significant matters.
