Qualified candidates have a J.D., 8+ years in employment, and NJ/NY bar eligibility. Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, with a collaborative firm environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of employment experience.
• Substantial employer-side employment counseling experience.
• Meaningful employment litigation experience.
• New Jersey and New York Bar admission required; candidates admitted only in New Jersey must be eligible and commit to seek admission to New York Bar.
• Experience with wage-and-hour and restrictive covenant drafting.

Responsibilities

• Advise employers and management on a broad range of employment matters, including HR support, complaints, discipline, onboarding and offboarding, terminations, policies, accommodations, leaves, and compliance.
• Advise clients on wage and hour matters, including employee classification and federal/state wage and hour laws.
• Counsel clients regarding trade secrets, restrictive covenants, confidentiality, and related protections.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, and related documents.
• Defend employers in employment litigation and administrative proceedings involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, wrongful termination, and other claims.
• Prosecute or defend clients in trade secret matters involving misappropriation and covenant violations.
• Represent employers before courts and agencies, including the EEOC.
• Collaborate with clients and attorneys to provide practical and effective employment advice.
