Job summary

Veeam Software is seeking an experienced labor and employment attorney to support the growing U.S. and Americas teams.

You will advise leadership on the full spectrum of global employment matters, manage disputes, and help scale policies for rapid growth. Qualifications

• JD and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in employment law counseling and litigation management.
• Experience advising on U.S. federal and multi-state employment law and international matters.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to People & Culture and business leaders on hiring, performance management, leaves of absence, accommodations, terminations, and reductions in force.
• Advise on compliance with federal, state, and international employment laws, including wage and hour, leave, anti-discrimination, and workplace safety requirements.
• Provide pragmatic, day-to-day guidance on employee relations issues and sensitive personnel matters, communicating legal risk with a full understanding of business needs.
• Advise on classification of workers, including exempt/non-exempt status and employee/independent contractor determinations, across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support expansion into new jurisdictions, including advising on local employment requirements, works councils, and other employee representative bodies, and support immigration-related matters in partnership with outside immigration counsel.
• Partner with People & Culture on compensation, equity, and benefits programs to ensure legal compliance, including pay equity and pay transparency requirements.
• Manage employment litigation, arbitrations, and administrative charges (EEOC, state agencies), including strategy, budget, and outside counsel relationships.
• Advise on separation agreements, severance arrangements, and settlement negotiations, and partner with People & Culture on execution.
• Provide employment law due diligence and support for M&A transactions, including workforce integration and transition planning.
• Advise on restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, and employee IP assignment provisions in partnership with the IP and Product Legal teams.
