Job summary

Camunda is seeking a Senior Employment Counsel to be the first-line legal partner for the People team, advising on employment matters and managing key legal and HR vendor relationships. This hands-on role aims to reduce reliance on outside counsel and to serve as a trusted business partner across the company.

You will oversee employment law across jurisdictions with emphasis on the DACH region, partner with HR and Finance on cross-functional projects, and explore AI tools to streamline

Qualifications

• J.D. or equivalent law degree with active bar admission.
• 8+ years employment law experience, including in-house at a global company.
• Deep knowledge of DACH employment law and other jurisdictions.
• Experience managing outside counsel and HR vendors, including EOR platforms.
• Ability translate legal risk into practical, business-focused guidance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first line of employment legal questions, resolving most matters directly.
• Advise on employee relations, performance, terminations, leaves, and accommodations; manage severe cases.
