Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina is seeking a Senior Counsel - Employment to provide strategic legal guidance on complex employment matters, including compliance, benefits and compensation, and workforce policy across the organization.

You will partner with senior leadership, supervise litigation matters, draft policies, and lead the employment law practice within the Legal Department, helping to align legal strategy with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Licensed to practice law.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment law counseling on hiring, performance management, discipline, terminations, leave, wage and hour compliance, investigations, and employee relations.
• Advise and counsel Company Officers and senior management on employment law issues; prepare memoranda and opinions.
• Supervise and oversee employment-related litigation and EEOC matters; respond to administrative complaints.
