Divergent is building the new industrial age in Torrance, CA and will relocate later to Long Beach, CA. We seek a Senior HR Generalist / Employee Relations Specialist to shape a fair, high-performing workplace as we scale, handling ER matters, investigations, leave, accommodations, and compliance with robust policy governance and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Experience independently managing employee relations matters and investigations with sound judgment.
• Experience applying California employment practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting intake, investigations, fact-finding, documentation, and case management.
• Experience administering leave of absence, accommodations, and workers' compensation programs.
• Experience partnering with Legal on employee relations and compliance matters.
• Demonstrated judgment balancing employee experience, business needs, and risk.
• Ability to identify operational challenges and improve processes and systems.
• Strong relationship-building, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Professionalism and discretion with sensitive employee matters.

Responsibilities

• Employee Relations & Workplace Support: primary contact for managers and employees on ER concerns; investigations and resolution recommendations.
• Leave, Accommodations & Workplace Compliance: manage leave programs, accommodations, and return-to-work coordination.
• Policy Governance, Organizational Health & Operational Scalability: draft and implement policies; provide health insights.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Legal, Payroll, Finance, Security, and Talent Acquisition.
• Design and improve ER systems, workflows, documentation, and escalation processes.
