Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation seeks a Senior Emissions Certification Engineer to lead emissions certification and compliance for internal combustion and battery electric vehicles. You will drive OBD-II approvals, in-use testing, and warranty reporting, coordinating with EPA and ARB staff to ensure regulatory adherence.

The role requires a strong background in powertrain development, emissions testing, and interaction with regulators, with the ability to develop corrective actions, present program status

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or environmental engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in powertrain development, emissions testing, certification, or on-board diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Experience with regulators in the transportation sector.
• Independent judgment and decision-making ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead emissions certification and compliance for internal combustion and battery electric vehicles.
• Manage OBD-II approval, in-use test management, and warranty reporting.
• Coordinate with US EPA and California ARB staff on requirements and interpretations.
• Develop corrective action plans to address budget or schedule deviations.
• Prepare briefings on program status and performance for executives and customers.
• Coordinate project activities of external contractors and internal engineering staff.
• Identify changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends.
