Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Senior Emissions Certification Engineer to lead emission certification programs for internal combustion and battery electric vehicles. The role includes OBD approvals, in-use test management, warranty reporting, and ongoing re-certification aligned with US EPA and California ARB standards.

You will coordinate with EPA/ARB staff, drive continuous improvement of OBD systems, and manage data collection for regulatory compliance across zero-emission vehicle programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or environmental engineering, or related field of study.
• 2+ years of related experience in powertrain development, emissions testing, certification, or on-board diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Previous working experience with regulators in the transportation sector.
• Independent judgment and decision‑making ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead emissions certification and compliance activities for internal combustion and battery electric vehicles.
• Submit and manage OBD-II approvals and in-use test programs.
• Monitor warranty reporting and ongoing emission re-certification per EPA/ARB standards.
• Develop corrective action plans when deviations from budgets or schedules occur.
• Prepare briefings for executive management and customers on program status and performance.
