Job summary

City of Kyle, TX seeks an experienced Emergency Management professional to coordinate programs and ensure preparedness, response, and recovery across all city departments. You will develop and maintain plans, policies, and procedures, supporting staff through training and evaluations.

The role involves collaboration with state and federal agencies (TDEM/FEMA), managing EOC operations, and driving policy updates as needed. Strong data analysis, communication, and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in emergency management, business, public administration, or a related field.
• At least four years of experience in a municipal, county, regional, or state emergency management position.
• CJIS fingerprint-based background check and eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate supervision, training, hiring, performance evaluations, and staff appointments within assigned emergency management functions.
• Maintain the City's Emergency Management Plan and ensure ongoing operational readiness.
• Coordinate administrative operations of the City's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Emergency Response Notification system.
• Identify and resolve procedural and operational issues and develop emergency management policies, procedures, objectives, and plans through research and data analysis.
• Oversee updates to the Emergency Management Plan and Emergency Operations Plan.
• Evaluate service delivery methods and implement improvements as needed.
• Assist City leadership with TDEM and FEMA processes, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
• Perform related work as required.
