Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino is seeking an EMC Design Engineer to evaluate, design, and optimize EMC solutions for its products.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with EMC requirements and regulations, and you will design test plans and analyze results to guide redesigns. The role emphasizes systematic thinking of products as integrated designs, collaboration with design, test, and validation teams, and sharing best practices to drive first-pass success across projects.

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent experience in electromagnetic fields and/or applications.
• 7+ years deep subject-matter expertise in EMC, ESD, RF, and/or signal integrity areas.
• Proficient in schematic and layout review of PCBs for emissions and immunity control.
• Able to perform CAD review of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical designs of enclosures, connectors, and cables for EMC compliance.
• Review PCB schematics and layouts for emissions and immunity control.
• Collaborate with vendors to meet EMC requirements at system level.
• Prepare comprehensive test plans and supervise execution and reports.
• Define validation requirements and train test engineers on data collection.
• Troubleshoot EMC failures and propose cross-functional solutions.
• Analyze data from designs, present findings, and recommend design changes.
