Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Senior Embryologist to lead embryology lab procedures for ART, including oocyte handling, fertilization, embryo culture, grading, and transfer preparation. You will ensure quality control and regulatory compliance while supporting clinical teams.

The role covers cryopreservation, warming of gametes, semen analysis and sperm preparation for IVF and IUI, with emphasis on accurate documentation and ongoing professional development in a leading academic medical center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science (medical technology).
• Minimum of two (2) years of laboratory experience.
• Experience with sterile/aseptic laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform ART laboratory procedures including oocyte identification, insemination, fertilization assessment, embryo culture, grading, and preparation for transfer.
• Conduct cryopreservation and warming of gametes and embryos using established protocols.
• Perform semen analysis and sperm preparation for IVF and IUI procedures.
• Ensure laboratory work is completed correctly, reliably, and in accordance with established standards.
• Communicate laboratory findings and interpret results for physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Assist the laboratory director with data collection, analysis, and reporting activities.
