Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager—AI/ML Engineering for the Data Foundations organization of Embodied AI. The role emphasizes people management, technical mentorship, and execution to advance AV data flywheel initiatives.

You will guide engineers, shape best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve model performance and data quality at scale. This remote/hybrid role offers relocation options within California Bay Area.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience managing and scaling high-performing engineering teams with a focus on operational excellence.
• Track record delivering scalable software solutions to production using Python.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of AI/ML engineers building and scaling the Data Flywheel at GM.
• Raise the engineering bar: set best practices, provide feedback, mentor direct reports.
• Drive the technical vision for Data Foundations at GM with senior leaders and team members.
• Define the project roadmap, set development priorities, align work with objectives and milestones.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with AV model development and validation teams to meet goals.
