Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Embedded Software Validation Engineer to validate, verify, and test embedded vehicle control software across new and existing products. You will work with software, systems, hardware, manufacturing, supplier, sales, and product teams to ensure quality, reliability, and functional correctness through structured validation strategies, simulation, and hands-on testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering or related field.
• At least 5-7 years of experience with embedded systems (as written in ad: 57 years, treated as 57+).
• Hands-on validation/testing of embedded software in vehicle or similar control systems.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting.
• Proficiency in C for embedded software and low-level access to hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, and regression testing of embedded control software across vehicle controllers and displays.
• Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test cases, test procedures, and validation documentation.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and implement improvements for quality.
• Develop simulation-based testing for multi-controller systems.
• Support validation activities using CAN and Ethernet interfaces.
• Troubleshoot software issues to determine root cause with minimal supervision.
• Provide on-site support for production software issues as required.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve defects and prevent recurrence.
• Coordinate with propulsion, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cab systems for integration.
• Interface with suppliers for firmware updates and validation improvements.
• Translate customer requirements into validation needs and test coverage.
