Job summary

ThayerMahan is seeking a senior software engineer to join our engineering team. You will help develop software spanning web applications to embedded Linux and microcontrollers, with applications to autonomous system command and control, DSP, software build and configuration management, and data flow management.

The role emphasizes writing and reviewing code, documentation, and design proposals; mentoring junior engineers; and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver well-specified product

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen (position entails access to Controlled Unclassed Information).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; 8+ years relevant industry experience; ability to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Strong communication and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Experience with embedded Linux, microcontrollers, and DoD projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Write, review, and maintain code; develop documentation and design proposals.
• Support production staff with system preparation and field engineering.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions.
