Job summary

GE Vernova's Advanced Research Center seeks a Lead Embedded Computing Research Engineer to architect, implement, and test edge solutions for embedded systems powering industrial automation and enterprise platforms. You will lead R&D tasks and collaborate across GE Vernova, suppliers, labs, and universities to transition research into product platforms.

You will contribute to cybersecurity practices, test plans, and program reviews while shaping multi‑million-dollar initiatives with DoD and DOE

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 1–5 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor or Master’s in computer science or electrical engineering with 3–5 years of industry experience.
• 3+ years in embedded systems, firmware, or edge software development.
• 3+ years in C/C++ development for embedded platforms.
• Experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, or SoC-based platforms and hardware interfaces
• Experience with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, IEC 61850, MQTT, BACnet)

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test edge and embedded software solutions for industrial automation and enterprise platforms.
• Serve as technical lead on R&D tasks and translate requirements into designs and plans.
• Develop firmware and application software in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded platforms.
• Build and automate unit, integration, HIL, and system verification.
• Collaborate with labs, universities, suppliers, and government partners to meet milestones.
• Contribute to proposals, technical reports, and program reviews.
