Job summary

GE Vernova's Advanced Research Center is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Research Engineer to advance OT and embedded system security across gas, renewables, and grid solutions. You will contribute to design, implementation, and testing of cybersecurity solutions from concept to fieldable prototypes, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

You will identify external funding opportunities, support roadmap execution, and help mature research into GE Vernova product platforms

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 1–3 years of industry experience.
• Bachelor or Master in CS/EE with 3–5 years of industry experience.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in embedded systems, firmware, or edge software development.
• Experience in C, C++, and Python.
• 3+ years with cryptographic standards (TLS, X.509) and hardware-based security (HSM/TPM/TrustZone).
• 3+ years of embedded software development, computer architecture, Linux OS, and network protocols.
• 3+ years of Linux security and driver development.

Responsibilities

• Support Cybersecurity technology development on R&D programs.
• Identify external funding opportunities for advanced OT security research.
• Contribute to proposals with technical input and domain expertise.
• Collaborate with universities, labs, and partners to advance OT security in embedded systems.
• Support roadmap execution and development of OT cybersecurity technologies from lab demonstrations to prototypes.
• Define technical requirements and security considerations for embedded and industrial control environments.
• Mature research into GE Vernova product platforms with business and product teams.
• Contribute to papers, patent filings, and open-source engagement.
• Participate in technical reviews and sponsor meetings.
