Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking an experienced software engineer to own low- and high-level software across Linux-based SBCs and high-reliability microcontroller systems. You will contribute to product roadmaps, detailed designs, and in-orbit support while ensuring robust, testable code and timely deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in software for embedded systems, strong C/C++ skills, and hands-on experience with RTOS and Linux.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in CS/EE/CE required; 5+ years in software development.
• Hands-on embedded hardware development and debugging experience.
• Experience with RTOS and real-time Linux is a plus.
• Experience with ARM processors and microcontrollers.
• Familiarity with aerospace-grade products and IP protocols.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems, from requirements to production and deployment.
• Developing, testing, debugging, and documenting system software.
• Reviewing code and system designs for performance and reliability.
• Analyzing code for efficiency, stability, and scalability.
• Integrating new product designs and supporting post-production/in-orbit activities.
• Interfacing with hardware design engineers and assessing third-party software.
